After an absence of a couple of months the newsletter returns for 2010.

For those of such inclinations you can now follow what’s happening here on Facebook and Twitter.

The Stocking Stuffers” exhibit in December 2009 went over well, and the participating artists liked the idea and challenge of creating work with the smaller size and price in mind. This exhibit will come again!

In February the exhibit “The Pen is Mightier” caused a bit of a splash. The artists, Ruby, Kate and Tina had a good selection of cartoons dealing with a large variety of issues. A good turn out and response. Congratulations are in order to Ruby, Kate and Tina for a job well done.

The work on the walls as I write are for a group of artists participating here at IMPRESSIONS. I have entitled the exhibit March Choice. Some good work up until the week before April 10.

If you have need of studio space, or would like to take or offer workshops space is also available for this. Please contact me for details.

Thanks for your continued support,

Raymond

PS. This newsletter as well as other information and ‘Stuff’ can be found at the IMPRESSIONS blog at http://blog.sanderregier.com/

Saturday April 10 at 1:00 pm is the vernissage for Bohème Pontissoise, an exhibit of contemporary photography by Bernhardt Beaudry. The exhibit will be up until May 1st, 2010.

The exhibit will include work in both black and white, and colour. Bernhardt’s photos are fun, serious, beautiful and timeless. A must see!

Underground Impressions Souterraines (UIS) (Raymond’s Studio, housed in the basement here at IMPRESSIONS.)

Recently some former students availed themselves of the Open Studio option here in the studio to produce some interesting dry-points. It looks like they will be back……too many plates to do in just one day.

In April more dry-point courses have been booked.

The Pontiac School of the Arts is offering two printmaking courses this July. I will be teaching both Dry-Point and Collagraph;

WorkShops/Ateliers

For details please see www.sanderregier.com or contact IMPRESSIONS at 819 503 8004.

  • Dry-Point Printing. If you like to draw you must try dry-point printing. This course introduces the basics of drawing on the printing plate, plate preparation, press usage, inks, one-colour printing, paper treatment, and editioning.

  • Collagraph Printing. The fascinating technique of collagraph printing produces sculptured 3-D effects in the printed paper. This course introduces the basics of collagraph plate-preparation, press usage, inks, one-colour printing, paper treatment, and editioning.

  • Lithography. Students are introduced to basic stone lithography, stone preparation, image making and preparation, press usage, inks, one-colour printing, paper treatment and editioning.

  • Open Studio. Advance beyond the introductory level and continue with the development of your skills in printmaking at your leisure. For the artist or student who already has a working knowledge of any of the previous techniques UIS can be used for personal creative work. For details contact Raymond.

All of these workshops can be arranged to suit your scheduling. Please inquire!
